London-based six-piece, Fanfarlo, have come a long way since they first hit the scene in the mid 00's. Having developed a strong fan base over the internet, the time had come to hit the masses with a formal release; 'Reservoir'.

In a nutshell, 'Reservoir' is a dose of feelgood, the sort of album to take you away from the mundane hundrum of everyday life. A wonderful combination of upbeat riffs, not unlike Belle And Sebastian meeting Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and moments of harsh melancholy reminiscent of Mercury Rev bumping into Arcade Fire, coupled with a host of string and horn arrangements produce a wonderful set of tracks.

When you listen to this album, it will either put a spring in your stride - 'Ghosts' or 'The Walls Are Coming Down' -, a hole in your heart - 'Comets' - or maybe even both - 'Luna'.

You could do a lot worse than add this to your collection.

NME-Rating: 8/10
Top Track: 'Luna'
