Second Announce Release of Fourth Studio Album

Murcian band, Second, have confirmed the release of their fourth studio album, "Fracciones De Un Segundo" on January 20.

The follow-up to "Invisible" (2006, Dro Atlantic) will comprise 11 (again) new tracks and has been produced by Carlos Jean.

For those of you foreigners wondering "who?", this band rose to fame in Spain after winning the International Battle of the Bands prize. Subsequently, they released "Pose" in 2003 and the aforementioned "Invisible" in 2006.

Having started off writing songs in English, the quintet have progressively moved towards their native Spanish tongue, but don't let that put you off. In my opinion, José Ángel Frutos has the voice of a Spanish Morrissey (and if you don't believe me, try and listen to 'Sometimes' from the album "Pose"). The songs are a mix of haunting ballads and riff-laden pop and if the first single 'Palabras' is anything to go by, this is going to be another quality album from the huertanos.

Those of you who live near Murcia might be interested to hear that the group will be offering a series of live appearances and gigs to promote the new release; First up is the FNAC shop on January 19 at 19.30, followed by the Aula Cultural CAM at 20:00 on February 3 and then a full blown concert at the Sala Audio on March 7 (21:30).

Those of you who won't be able to make it can check them out on their web page, www.second.es or visit their myspace (which features material from the new album).

Good luck, muchachos!
