Weekly Round Up (12 Jan 2009)

Morrissey With Some Strings

Some people have all the luck!

Not only have they just got rid of their worst president ever, the news of an extensive Morrissey tour with support from The Courteeners in 18 gigs throughout March and April officially makes US music fans the "jammiest gits" so far in 2009.

In their own words, The Courteeners "are delighted to announce they have been invited to support Morrissey on a string of dates on his forthcoming US Tour".

Pet Shop Boys at SOS 4.8 Festival?

Now this could be a nice exclusive for nme-europe or simply a load of crap, but I heard today that the SOS 4.8 organisers are trying to secure the services veterans Pet Shop Boys for the bank holiday weekend festival in May.

That should ensure the first 500 specially-priced tickets disappear before too long, shouldn't it?!

Mogwai in Murcia

Scottish post-punk group Mogwai will be offer a concert at the Auditorium on February 4. Another fine band on the Murcian agenda, this time belatedly presenting their latest album 'The Hawk Is Howling'. Tickets are priced at 20€.
